Home Sales Rising Above Forecast
"The residential real estate market in the US is on fire," said Brian Jones, senior US economist in New York at Sociate Generale. Lawrence Yun, chief economist of the Realtor Group agrees, "The housing market is too good." With home sales rising above forecast, it will be important to track causes and potential outcomes.
Home Sales on a Three Year Rise.
In May, national home sales rose to it's highest level in over three years. At 4.2% this is the highest we've seen since November 2009. The increase in home sales is pushing so high that it may be creating a lack of supply. This data comes just days after a new survey showed American's view on the economy as being the "least pessimistic" its been in five years. With such a high demand, residential construction, and a growth of existing home sales, we'll need to plan strategically to take full advantage of this market.
